Pain Relief

All athletes experience periods of pain and injury. Let our team of Podiatrists and Physiotherapists get you back doing what you want to do as quickly as possible.

Injuries occur in athletes when excessive forces are placed on the tissues of the body. This can happen as a one off force or more commonly a smaller repetitive force, commonly known as an over-use injury. With our state of the art motion analysis software, we can track all of your movements from all four sides of the body and see where these repetitive forces are acting. You will be able to see this analysis in a report prepared for you along with a video CD-Rom of your gait analysis for you to take home and review.

We will do all that we can to assist with your pain on the day of your assessment. Our on-site physiotherapists are very experienced in detailing with sports injuries and may well be recommended for a rehab programme.

Orthotics are often a great weapon to use against pain in the lower back, hip, knee, and lower leg injuries. Changing the way your foot interacts with the ground can reduce the forces that have lead to the injury. These custom made orthotics can be fitted to whatever shoes you would like them fitted to.

CASESTUDIES

Our patients range from elite athletes to those with chronic medical conditions, from 6 to 86. Here are some case studies of some of our patients.

"I have always been vulnerable to injury. I am pain free for the first time in 3 years."

Name: RMK, Manchester
Sport: Hiking
Previous Injuries: Shin Splints
Current Injury: Heel Pain

Orthotics to relieve stresses on tissues were the solution after detailed gait analysis. These orthotics were fitted to hiking boots and offer the stability and resilience required for challenging terrain.

"Having a detailed analysis of my gait has highlighted a couple of areas where I can easily improve my form."

Name: Adam, Manchester
Sport: Distance Running
Previous Injuries: None
Current Injury: None

As a very competitive distance runner, Adam had gait analysis to see if he could make any improvements and to check he was wearing the correct running shoes. Detailed motion analysis and pressure plate studies highlighted some muscle imbalances some restricted movements and some poor form. A home exercise plan to address all of these points was included with his gait analysis DVD and pressure plate report.
