Because you are having your orthotics manufactured while you wait you can be sure that you will leave with a very comfortable orthotic.

What are Orthotics?

Orthotics are orthopedic devices that are used to treat a variety of biomechanical foot disorders. Whenever a person’s foot is not functioning as designed, the weight of the body is not properly transferred and distributed. As a result, pain and tenderness can develop in the foot, ankle, and the surrounding muscles. Orthotics work to relieve pain by realigning and supporting the ligaments and bones of the foot properly, so that the foot can function as normal.

Our clinicians use state of the art manufacturing equipment to produce custom made orthotics on site and in most cases you can leave with the device on the same day. Custom made orthotics are specifically designed to meet the needs of the individual patient.

Our Orthotics can be made to suit all styles and types of shoes and boots. We deal with all types of footwear from everyday shoes, fashion shoes and children’s shoes to sports shoes, work boots and protective footwear.

What do Orthotics do?

Orthotics are used to reduce pain, redistribute pressure and to prevent problems with our feet. Orthotics are also used to restore natural foot function and to cure conditions such as flat feet.

Whatever your specific requirements we can accommodate them.

What are sports orthotics?

Our sports orthotics are tailored with specific sport requirements in mind some sports for example demand a flexible orthotic to enable rapid directional changes, some need to incorporate shock absorption qualities to cope with high impact.

Some of the conditions we treat may be familiar to you, many serious sports men and women regularly suffer with pain during their respective sporting activities.

Our specialist sports orthotics will allow you to perform and enjoy your chosen sport to your optimum ability and potential, hopefully pain free.

Orthotics For Runners

As a runner you will know that injury can lead to a very frustrating time particularly if an injury keeps returning. Running places demands on the feet, ankles and knees for all athletes. Ensuring that the body is working efficiently has been a concern for elite runners for some time. Over the past two decades most runners have become aware of the role that the right shoes play in preventing injury. Our running orthotics take this a step further as they are custom made to fit the unique shape of your feet. They can be used for the rehabilitation or prevention of injury. Before our running orthotics are made for you, you will have a biomechanical assessment, video gait analysis and pressure plate analysis so that our Podiatrists will have the complete picture of what happens when you run.

Most runners know what pronation is. Pronation is a normal motion that occurs and is needed to adapt to the terrain underneath you. Excessive pronation can lead to injuries at the knee, shins, ankles and feet.

Common conditions where orthotics may be beneficial include:
1. Corns and Blisters – Our running orthotics reduce friction and remove pressure.
2. Metatargalsia
3. Plantar Facitis
4. Heel Pain
5. Achillies Tendonitis
6. Shin Splints
7. Knee Pain

I found my assessment fascinating! I didn't expect to leave with my orthotics on the day of my appointment - I feel like I am walking on air.

I can tell the difference with my new orthotics immediately. The last pair I had were from America and are amateur in comparison.
